Robust ToF level measurement technology for reliable operation in demanding conditions

Non-contact continuous level measurement for harsh industrial and railway environments
The CALIS Non-Contact Level Sensor is designed for continuous level measurement in harsh environmental conditions. Originally developed for monitoring sand levels in railway vehicles, the sensor has proven its reliability through extensive long-term testing and can also be used as a flexible limit switch or continuous level measurement solution in industrial applications.
The sensor complies with railway standards including EN 50155, EN 50121 and EN 45545, while its configurable design enables use in demanding environments beyond rail applications.
Using an optical Time-of-Flight (ToF) measuring principle, CALIS performs level measurement without contact with the medium and without requiring calibration to the material or container. This allows reliable measurement across a wide range of applications while simplifying installation and commissioning.
The compact sensor design makes installation possible even in confined spaces and complex tank geometries. The use of wear-free electronics, corrosion-resistant stainless steel housing and a glass optical window ensures an exceptionally long service life of more than 30 years without regular maintenance requirements.
The fully sealed construction protects against moisture ingress, while the integrated IO-Link interface enables flexible sensor configuration through the control system.
