What is a Roots Type Blower?

• Connected to a motor (3Phase) or belt driven via a pulley system andrubber V-belt​

• Make, model and size of the motor can be specified – BIBUS AG has arelationship with WEG – IE3 and IE4 for efficiency can be relevant ​

• Variable speed control can help adjust performance (Similar to a sidechannel blower – connected via a control panel?) for higher or lowerairflows and better efficiency

• Taiko three-lobe blowers offer superior efficiency, lower noise and reducedvibration compared to two-lobe (twin-lobe) models​

• Twin-lobe units are often more economical, three-lobe models providesmoother airflow and higher performance.​

• Rotating Mechanism: Two rotors turn in opposite directions inside a casing,timed precisely by gears to maintain small, tight clearances.​

• Vacuum and Pressure is possible

How and Where are they used?​

• PD blowers are favoured for their ability to maintain constantair volume at varying pressures (E.G. blockages andchanging water levels), making them highly effective​

• Oil free air – low maintenance (require oil top up and checkfilter) long-lifespan / high durability​

• WWTP – When back pressure is too high for SECOH orSCB’s. Airflows can range form low m3/h to 1000’s m3/h – so400MBAR< + (up to around 1BAR but variables need to bekept in mind)
