During normal operation they provide completely zero-backlash torque transmission, while instantly disconnecting the drivetrain when the preset torque limit is exceeded.
The couplings operate using a proven spring-ball detent mechanism. As soon as the transmitted torque exceeds the predefined release value, the driving and driven sides are mechanically disengaged in less than 5 milliseconds.
