As manufacturing becomes increasingly data-driven, monitoring the actual operating conditions of a drivetrain is just as important as transmitting torque reliably. R+W Intelligent Couplings combine precision coupling technology with integrated sensor electronics, enabling continuous measurement of critical operating parameters without the need for external torque sensors or complex measuring equipment.
The integrated wireless sensor continuously measures torque, rotational speed and temperature directly within the drivetrain. Data is processed inside the coupling and transmitted in real time to a PC, mobile device or directly to the machine control system via a gateway. Operators can visualize live measurements, monitor average and peak values, compare multiple sensors simultaneously and export data in CSV format for further analysis. This makes intelligent couplings an ideal solution for Condition Monitoring, Predictive Maintenance and Industry 4.0 applications.
The sensing technology can be integrated into existing R+W metal bellows, elastomer, disc and torque limiter couplings without requiring additional installation space or external measuring devices. As the official Hungarian partner, BIBUS Kft. provides engineering support for system integration, sensor selection and drivetrain optimization.
