Safe and fast deceleration with RINGFEDER friction springs
_x000D_Fast and precise deceleration of moving masses: RINGFEDER® friction springs are a range of maintenance-free safety components that play a vital role in various areas of technology and industry. They can absorb sudden forces and kinetic energy or can serve as compact damping systems for extremely large forces. Whether you order a custom or a standard version, RINGFEDER® friction springs always consist of a set of precisely manufactured outer and inner rings that are then assembled to create spring columns according to your individual requirements. Each unit undergoes 100% testing and loading several times before delivery to ensure absolute functional reliability
_x000D_Features
_x000D_The spring material is utilised to the maximum extent, as a result of which RINGFEDER friction springs manage to combine a high level of spring work with minimum weight and volume. Within this context, it is the spring work that is the crucial factor.
_x000D_Strong damping effect – RINGFEDER friction springs offer 66% damping as standard, meaning that the input energy is absorbed efficiently and that resonance phenomena are completely suppressed. The level of damping can be varied for specific applications or customers within a range of 33% to 66% by using different lubricants.
_x000D_Spring work and damping effect are independent of load speed – The force-stroke diagram remains unchanged, regardless of the load speed. In contrast to other damping systems, RINGFEDER friction springs provide unrestricted spring work and damping even when the load speed is low.
_x000D_Safety thanks to springs that “block” – RINGFEDER friction springs are designed to “block” so that the permissible stresses cannot be exceeded and the friction springs cannot be damaged.
_x000D_Temperature independence – Hydraulic dampers and synthetic springs are affected by temperature fluctuations and self-heating. By contrast, the force-stroke diagram of the RINGFEDER friction spring remains constant within a temperature range of -20°C to +60°C. The self-heating of the spring due to damping must be taken into account. For applications outside this temperature range, we recommend contacting our experts.
_x000D_Maintenance-free – As a general rule, there is no need to relubricate a RINGFEDER® friction spring once it is in operation. In fact, the use of other lubricants can even cause the spring to fail.
_x000D_Flexible spring arrangement – RINGFEDER friction springs offer flexibility in terms of how the spring columns are arranged. These can be configured in parallel or series to make optimum use of the available installation space: parallel arrangement for higher forces and series arrangement for greater spring travel.
_x000D_Versatile spring arrangement – RINGFEDER friction springs allow flexibility when arranging the spring columns, whether that be a parallel or a series configuration. This allows you to make optimum use of the available installation space: a parallel arrangement for higher forces and a series arrangement for greater spring travel.
